So far I've written and photographed twenty (20) books on rustic design. And I've won all kinds of awards for my work. My books are sold all over the world. Many architects and designers say that almost all of their clients who want a rustic home come in carrying my books with the pages carefully marked saying "this is exactly what I want"! At present I'm working on three more books and will have a new book on the market each year for the next few years. I can assure readers that I both write and make all of the photos for each of my books. They really do take about a year to complete. Nonetheless, I love doing them and I love spending time with the owners of the many great homes I feature in my works.

Review:
“Woven with a profound sense of contemporary Americana, these vignettes present a tapestry of rural and big city USA. Painted with observations and insights that capture the “what is” of the human condition, these stories have layers of insightful understanding that surely stir a spectrum of emotions. Reading Ralph is like savoring a Norman Rockwell painting.”

Book Description:
Whether at camp, at the lake, in the mountains or high off in the backwoods, we all cherish our memories of summer vacations at the cabin.

The homes and camps presented here reveal that rustic style isn't just for summer cabins anymore. Rustic is easily adaptable for any lifestyle.

Review:
This is an incredible book! The pictures are wonderful and the rooms presented have very usable ideas that could be implemented in your own cottage, lodge, etc.. 'Cabins' is oversized and would look great on a coffee table, but make no mistake, this is not just another pretty book. The decorating is down to earth but sparks the imagination. We spent an hour enjoying this wonderful collection of to-die-for log and rustic homes the day it was delivered. We will spend countless hours for years to come referring to this book for inspiration and ideas. Thank you Ralph Kyloe for another fabulous book! - Sally

Fly Fishing the Great Western Rivers

Hardcover - 256 pages (April 2004)
Gibbs Smith Publisher

Foreword
Jack Dennis has often said that not even the world's greatest guide can control whether or not the trout are going to be biting. He's also stood firm in his belief that the discerning guide can always control more important things like the caliber of his or her company and food.

Ralph Kylloe is a discerning guide. Flooding the reader with fond memories while prompting dreams of trips yet to be, his photographs enrich each page with genuineness. Ralph's writing is real and alive, pithy and poignant. In tandem with his insightful photographs, it captures the essence of what it means to be a fisherman. Ralph's stories ring true as they entertain.

Fly fishing and Kylloe go together like bread and butter.

Meet Dr. Kylloe, the consummate renaissance man, artist, artisan, musician, businessman, merchant, poet and professor.

Meet Ralph, the kid eager for new adventures in learning and experiencing: a student of a man living life in big gulps while studying the little things simply for the joy of it.

Meet my friend Ralph, a middle aged man-child of a fly fisherman who can't get enough of stronger knots, fourteen foot-plus hand tied leaders, double hauling, more colorful streamers, smaller midges, heavier nymphs, lighter boots and tighter lines.

This is not a book about technique or catching but rather a whimsical dalliance into the adventure of it all: a walk with a master storyteller painting every page with photographs and prose that speak "fisherman."

This Kylloe book captures the tone, the style, the grace, the reverence, and the wonderment implicit in the fly-fishing experience.

-Robert A. Esperti

Former member, U.S. Fly Fishing Team
